Still want a GIV experience this summer, but didn’t apply yet?

Good news! You can apply late for the following Institutes:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Arts
  • Environmental Science and Technology
  • Mathematics (GIRLS ONLY)

You can also apply to be on the waitlist for:

  • Engineering
    Information Technology & Digital Media

Our waitlists are short and selective so if you’re on it, there’s a good chance you may join us this summer. So you’re a Vermonter in 9th, 10th or 11th grade, hurry up and apply to be one of the 450 lucky ones attending GIV this summer!  Don’t wait – space is limited and we review applications as they arrive.

 How to Apply:

1A. Go to to start or resume your application. You need to finish both Section One and Section Two of this application! Tell us about yourself and your interests, and find two adults who can recommend you, such as teacher, coach, guidance counselor or other adult who is not related to you. (If your teacher tells you the deadline has passed, please direct him or her to this website.)

1B. Download a paper application.

Note: We do not require an application fee for waitlist applicants.

2. Ask your school contact if he or she is willing to nominate you as a late applicant. Either way, you can still apply – but a school nomination makes you a stronger applicant and can help you with financial aid as well.

3.  For those using paper applications, check out our sliding scale tuition chart to see the recommended tuition for your family’s income level. If you need financial assistance, don’t worry; just fill out our reduced tuition application form (you don’t need to fill this out if you are not requesting financial aid). If you or your family have any questions about tuition, please call us at (802) 865-4448. We don’t want financial circumstances to prevent anyone from being able to attend! GIV is need-blind and your family’s financial situation will never impact your acceptance into the Institutes.

4. Submit your application! Paper applications should be submitted to your school contact, while online applications go entirely through

Still have questions? Don’t hesitate to call (802) 865-4448.
