The Governor's Insitutes of Vermont turn 20 this summer - join us for the celebration. All GIV alumni, faculty and friends are invited! The celebration takes place at Shelburne Farms Saturday, August 9, 2003.

ALL DAY Silent Auction in the Coach Barn (click to see a partial list of items)
11am Registration and Institute Displays in Coach Barn, Shelburne Farms (Directions)
Noon Picnic lunch on the grounds - bring your own picnic lunch, or email giv@sover.net to order a $10 box lunch
1pm Official Kick-Off with special commemorative poem by Geof Hewitt
1:30-4:30pm Fun, FREE workshops from all Institutes

    • 1:30-4:30: Asian Since You Last Looked with Juefei Wang

    • Come visit our display in the registration area all day

    • 1:30-4:30: Understanding the Great Outdoors, with Christine Massey and Paul Bierman. Wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
(CHILD CARE Available from 1:30 to 4:30 @ $5 an hour Children must be between 2 and 7 years old. 8 and up are welcome in the Workshops. You will pay Child Care Provider directly.)
4:30-5:30pm Music & Memories: Expanding Horizons for 20 Years with Verandah Porche, Geof Hewitt, Chuck Meese and many, many more
6pm Cash Bar - Jazz with "Rolling Papyrus" (GIA 2002 alums Jeremy Gartner, Ethan Snyder, Eric Gundel; and Nate Marro)
7pm Celebratory sit-down dinner served in the Coach Barn. Speakers will include Ellen Lovell, founder; Donny Osman, Director of the Arts Institute; and Charity Clark, Arts 91. Presentations and recognitions. $50 per person. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED: giv@sover.net
8pm Concert & Open Mike at Memorial Auditorium (Burlington) Tickets at the Door: $5.
7:30-9pm: OPEN MIKE for GIV alumni.
9pm: Dance to Boston-based band BABALOO'S politically-charged, latin/rhythmic world music.
