Summer Institute Information

The Governor's Institutes of Vermont enriches the lives of motivated Vermont high school students through intensive educational experiences on Vermont college campuses. These summer programs emphasize experiential learning and subsequent community involvement. GIV seeks to enroll students who reflect the diversity of Vermont.

Our summer Institutes are offered in Arts; Asian Cultures; Current Issues & Youth Activism; Engineering; Information Technology; Mathematics; and Science & Technology.

IMPORTANT DATES
   February 1: Applications available in schools
   March 15: Applications due to schools (local school determines exact date)
   April 1: Applications due to GIV from schools
   May 1: School fees due
   Late June: Institutes begin

Winter Weekend Information

We are offering a Weekend Institute in early Febuary which is:

FOCUS ON GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE: Increase your awareness of issues; Reflect on new information and ideas; Gain skills and tools to effect change.

IMPORTANT WINTER WEEKEND 2008 DATES
   October 2007: Applications available in your school
   Deadline: December 15, 2007
   January 11 - 13, 2008: Winter Weekend at Goddard College in Plainfield
