The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont is currently accepting applications for three year-round staff openings. Resumes will be reviewed until all positions are filled.
This person will lead all financial, technical and administrative aspects of a vibrant and venerable nonprofit organization that has recently grown to empower more than 600 young people each year. This person manages GIV’s innovative sliding scale tuition and aid awards, ensuring access for students living in poverty, in addition to more traditional office management responsibilities. Requires at least 4 years’ experience in operations, administrative or technical positions.
GIV is hiring its first-ever Programs Manager to nourish and grow our expanding network of services for young learners and institutions who serve them. The right candidate for this position will be a dynamic professional with outstanding team leadership skills, a demonstrated track record of developing, implementing and continually improving programs, and an unshakeable commitment to helping young people access transformative accelerated learning that grows their skills, confidence and aspirational achievement.
In this position you will take on primary responsibility for GIV’s marketing, outreach and media activities. You will choose and effectively wield a wide range of communication tools such as print materials, e-newsletters, telephone, press releases and more to communicate with numerous populations, both external and internal. Strong writing and speaking skills and attention to detail are essential.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, email and internet search, a strong work ethic, and a desire to work in a small, team-oriented, fast-paced office environment are vital for all positions. Advanced technology skills (database, WordPress, networking) are a plus.
